Q & A

What is a Package?
A package is a specific group of log home components. Each log home company provides a different type of package. We provide a framing package. It contains 90% of the components needed to make the exterior shell weather tight. Items not included in our package include basement materials, finish roof materials and trim. Interior trim and items such as heating, wiring, plumbing finish flooring, wall finish and cabinetry are not provided. A finished roof package can be provided along with an interior trim package. A diagram is provided in our plan packet that shows each component of our package.

How much does a package cost?
Prices are subject to change. Price is the bottom line. It is our job to help you find a design and package that fits into your budget. A wide price range is possible depending on the design of the home, the location of your building site, and how much work you are able to do yourself.

How do you  build a "hand crafted" log home?
Each log is individually hand selected, notched, and hand hewed for an exact fit. When every unique log is in place, the structure is inspected for it's workmanship and aesthetic value. Once satisfied, the crew marks and disassembles the home for shipping to your building site. Click Here to see photos.

What type of homes can we build?
We offer both Scandinavian full-scribe or saddle-notched chink style in simple to elaborate designs for both residential and commercial settings.

Do I need a contractor with prior log experience?
Of course not. With our expert advice and extensive experience as a resource, any quality-conscious builder or owner can do a fabulous job.

What kinds of logs and products go into a handcrafted log home?
We primarily build with dead-standing Westernwoods, cured and well-seasoned for minimal movement and shrinkage. The industry's leading fastening system of heavy duty lag bolts and settling jacks are used to help prevent excessive settlement problems.
